Careers Overview
Big Ear is all about advocacy because our passion is hearing conservation awareness. To help us spread the
word, the first step on the Big Ear path is Advocate. If your advocacy leads you into making your passion
a home based business, then that path is open to you, but certainly not mandatory. You may choose hearing
conservation as a business because you believe in it and want to help as many people as possible, in which
case, just telling them about noise induced hearing loss won’t be enough. You will want to help them do
something about it.
Big Ear people come from all walks of life and enjoy the rewards of their own business and the
satisfaction that comes from helping others understand the negative impact of noise induced hearing loss.
Our geographically dispersed small businesses are taking advantage of the heightened awareness of hearing
conservation by industry, government and others who understand that when you lose your hearing, you can’t
replace it.
There are three positions within Big Ear and each has a different purpose:
An Advocate is a person who is passionate about hearing conservation and wants to work with Big Ear
and the International Hearing Conservation Awareness Foundation (IHCAF) to help the world understand the
importance of hearing conservation by sharing information. Everyone who joins Big Ear begins as an
Advocate and once you do so, you will have access to additional information.
An Associate is a person who wants to turn their passion into a small business by helping other
businesses comply with the law regarding hearing protection and conservation. You must become an
Associate before you have the option of taking the next step in the evolution of your business by
becoming a Consultant.
A person who wants to add making customized hearing products to their business becomes a professional
Consultant. A Consultant can do it all.
